https://infogalactic.com/info/Wicker_man

> A wicker man was a large wicker statue purportedly used by the ancient Druids (priests of Celtic paganism) for sacrifice by burning it in effigy, according to Julius Caesar in his Commentarii de Bello Gallico (Commentary on the Gallic War).[1][2]

> Archaeological evidence from the British Isles seems to indicate that human sacrifice may have been practiced, over times long pre-dating any contact with Rome. Human remains have been found at the foundations of structures from the Neolithic time to the Roman era, with injuries and in positions that argue for their being foundation sacrifices.

They've snuck this ancient practice of burning a wooden effigy ritually in to the secular annual "Burning Man" event:

"bro" there are tons of us on "our" side together; we may not be on "their" side in the comic but we're not alone.

I also may not agree with everyone here on certain things, we have overlapping things we do agree on at times tho

even people on the other side at times are agreeing with us on things

Regarding blacks in the pic, I know this board is often focused on white people, but with conservative politics there are tons of minorities waking up that the leftist madness isn't good for them either, and I see a lot more blacks willing to call out bad black behavior (like 13/50 stuff) and to acknowledge and appreciate good white behavior

Just hoping to add a little whitepill, we definitely have a lot of people overlapping on "our" side

> farm animals

been wondering about this too, you could cull some animals or try natural treatments

also important to know I guess if you lose access to vaccines if there are supply shortages or whatever

I posted this without much extra info, but actually then went to a search engine and see a few different articles bringing up this topic, like one from 2018 complaining about how "anti-vaxxers" don't want to vaccinate certain animals.

> Industrial seed oils were invented when there was no meaningful health regulation, then became increasingly popular based on flawed research suggesting they were heart healthy.

> In the intervening 100+ years, numerous in vitro cell studies, animal studies, human clinical trials, and observational studies have demonstrated the toxic effects of seed oils and their byproducts created during heating.

> While there are a few possible benefits to seed oils, such as vitamin E, low amounts of omega-3 ALA, and reduction in cholesterol, according to some studies, these properties aren't unique to seed oils and don't outweigh the potential for harm.

> Industrial seed oils are hard to avoid if you mainly eat food from restaurants and pre-packaged processed foods, but easy to avoid if you learn to read labels and do as much of your cooking as possible.

A theory of categories of toys and games

Some toys are for adults too, though they may be of a higher quality. Example: a beginner child's guitar versus a classical guitar for an adult. It's interesting to me the "toys" that adults also like to play with, or how children's recreation can overlap with that of adults' recreation.

Categories:

art / music supplies (music instruments, chalk / pencils / markers, clay, cameras, etc.)

dolls / action figures / playsets / accessories (stuffed animals, etc.)

furniture

vehicles (bikes, motorized, scooters, etc.)

remote control (RC) devices (drones, rc cars, etc.)

computers and accessories (PC, tablet, ereader, etc.)

board or video games (card games, etc.)

puzzles

building toys or models (lego, knex, model trains, model cars, etc.)

play weapons (toy swords, nerf guns, water guns, etc.)

physical playsets (swings, slides, houses, etc.)

sporting equipment (hoop, trampoline, baseball bat)

science toys

clothes

books

If I forgot something, leave a comment to add (this list was based on a quick skim of both linked catalogs)
foods (candy, seasonal items, etc.)

To me it's a little early to be thinking about Christmas - maybe after Halloween would be closer but far enough away for there to be a little extra time. After Thanksgiving might be too close to Christmas for kids to think about toys, or adults about presents.

Anyway, so some of the corporations are keeping the "tradition" alive of releasing top toy publications or catalogs. Was it Sears catalogs that used to be put out and were a popular catalog of this kind in the past? Anyone have a history on this?

In any event, I do not endorse Walmart or Amazon but link some of their PDFs of this kind of thing as an example. Anyone have other interesting catalog links to drop, toy or holiday gift ideas, or other thoughts on the topic (such as perhaps something to do instead of consumption, alternative "knock off" cheaper or more educational toys for kids, etc.)?

an "The Exorcist" theme
> His feast (29 September) in the Middle Ages was celebrated as a holy day of obligation, but along with several other feasts it was gradually abolished since the eighteenth century (see FEASTS). Michaelmas Day, in England and other countries, is one of the regular quarter-days for settling rents and accounts; but it is no longer remarkable for the hospitality with which it was formerly celebrated. Stubble-geese being esteemed in perfection about this time, most families had one dressed on Michaelmas Day. In some parishes (Isle of Skye) they had a procession on this day and baked a cake, called St. Michael's bannock.
