Flat earthers catch a lot of shit. I don't know why it makes people so mad. I find their arguments amusing/ intriguing and I entertain them with curiosity. The natural reaction of most people is hostility like what you see in this thread.
There's a few people who I consider fairly smart who do insist the earth is not a round sphere ball. So that always makes me wonder.
I can't prove one way or the other but the globe model is most convincing theory to me.

**FUN FACT 849 : Flat Earthers are mostly FAKE ACCOUNTS! (Meant to kookify a Free Speech social site)**

If conspiracy theorists were not retarded it would be significantly harder to tie flat earth to them. It's the fact that the vast majority of that "community" are utterly uneducated, largely uncurious gullible fat shits that makes it so easy. Look at how *easily* Q took control of a huge swath if MAGA. We all know Q was a psyop. That doesn't change the fact that to many it's real in their heads!
Example: People seriously believe HAARP is a weather control device. Sometimes when these ideas percolate they originate from some government document or a study or just theorycrafting by the people responsible, something like that. HAARP being weather control was actually invented entirely out of thin air by Michel Chossudovsky to sell a book.
He just said it. That was all it took. All of the "explaining" came after the fact and still nobody satisfied all his made-up shit... atmospheric heating can trigger storms? Okay, that's not perfect but it's at least in the CEP. But he also said it could create earthquakes. Atmospheric heating isn't triggering earthquakes. So everyone just kind of ignored that part because it's clearly dumb.
Conspiracy theory is supposed to be rooted in the idea of skepticism and questioning everything but all you need is to write some gay shit and it's automatically real? In truth conspiracy theory is about seeking an intentional narrative of vast spooky plots of comic book evil so as long as you make up some shit to that effect, that crowd will just believe it.
So yeah I 100% believe flat earthers are real, it basically was the natural end state. *However, I also think many of these stupid ideas are seeded by governments specifically to exploit stupid people*. They do it and wait for it to take upon a life of its own. That doesn't mean the True Believers don't exist. There's also a lot of bad actors willing to push bullshit to make money. Selling conspiracy books and website clicks is big business.
Turning around every time the community looks foolish and claiming that nobody actually believes it doesn't really work because everybody else can see that they clearly do.
...
I used to really like Coast To Coast AM because it featured the dumbest people on the planet saying the funniest shit you've ever heard. I still remember a Bigfoot hunter with a story about how he found Bigfoot but couldn't photograph him because "as you know, Bigfoot is an extra dimensional creature that can bend light".
I don't think that guy believed his bullshit. I think he knows *other people* will and will buy his book.
Retarded like the people who believe scientists after they tried to push an absurd steady state theory of the universe, because the Big Bang theory hurt their anti-theistic feefees?
Retarded like the people who believe scientists after they flopped from "the earth is cooling" back in the 70s to "the earth is warming" in the 90s to "the climate is changing, but we still need lots of money!" in the current year?
Retarded like the people who believe scientists after even the most modest examination of their works found that most "scientific studies" were never replicated, and that most cannot be replicated?
Notice everything you listed was people with legitimacy and educations and reputations spending significant time and money going through proper methods of questioning and validating evidence and doing studies and lots of math and research and backing up and defending their conclusions when questioned...
... And not obese GED holding truck drivers just inventing faggotry on the internet and using "call everyone a fed kike shill and block them" when questioned, and whose "evidence" literally just came from 4chan posts and insane websites called "911PATRIOTTRUTHHEALTHNEWS.biz" that are all written by anonymous idiots.
I am prepared to put faith in any conspiracy theory that actually comes with real, proper evidence, from people with actual merit, that can actually "show the math". Sometimes that math is literally actual math.
If you think HAARP can control the weather then build a model and do the math and prove it. If a scientist can build it decades ago then another scientist should be able to replicate the work.
What do we get instead?
Some greasy dago filmmakers claiming the lunar lander was a fake prop because "it looks like scotch tape".
We get sad fuckups squinting at pixels on the internet and relying on "muh gut" who then try to claim they're compatriots with people who have actually put themselves at risk to get actual truth out there. That's pathetic. You are not Edward Snowden. You never will be.
If you tie any doubt to a specific personality or group, then you're extra retarded.
Most of your conspiracy material is either stuff you don't "really" believe (meaning, you'd be shooting senators at this point, because the crimes you allege are so heinously evil they long crossed 'the line') or they're just harmless, irrelevant hobbyist wankfuel that will never matter in any timeline (like was the moon landing fake? Who gives a fuck, what vindication do you ever think you'll get for that?).
"If a tree falls in a forest". Some random nobody on the internet believing Santa Claus is real is not going to actually matter.
And don't try to play that game where you try to tie legitimacy of schizo shit to the *real* conspiracies that actually have evidence and documentation and mainstream acknowledgement. That's a trick, we all know it. "But but but Covid shots were dangerous, therefore black helicopters machine-gunned the Vegas concert from the sky!" Boooooring.
His actual proposal to the king and queen was that China was much closer to Europe than people thought.
He was wrong, of course. You'd have to sail farther than your ship could carry food and water to get to China. But thankfully there was an entire continent that people didn't know about in between.
