Just fell out of a relationship with the woman I thought I was going to marry. It took so much time and energy and luck to even get in the situation I was in. I'm only 25 but that feeling of lost progress and momentum is really hurting.

How do you stop yourself from being demoralised and black pilled and keep at it?

Focus instead on the thrill of being a relentless, fearless hunter.

Always be prepared to meet someone. Always dress to impress before you leave the house. Always keep your house clean and bed made. Always carry a pen and paper to write down your number.

Seize every opportunity.

Hit on every cute girl you see, even if it's just with a smile or a hello.

Hit on every cute checkout chick meet: they'll often ask, "How are you?" or "Got any plans for the weekend?" or something similar. If not, you can ask them, making it seem like small-talk.

Know all the great dating spots in your local area such as outdoor cinema in the park, playhouses that review well, hiking trails, bike trails to nice parks or the beach, dog parks, wineries, scenic lookouts, ghost tours, historic tours, etc.

Pro-tip: Some of the small playhouses are fantastic, if you've never been. Good for a third date if you're shy about plays not being a traditional masculine activity. Good, low budget theater is amazing, the fewer the props, the better. If you've never been then I hope you find the best kind of grungy minimalist play because, when done well, it's immersive and powerful in a way that TV and cinema can never match.

Do your research: visit all of these places to see if they'd make a good venue for a date.

Let her know you're planning a few possible things such as walking your dog [name your dog] or thinking of going for a hike [name the park] or checking out the evening outdoor cinema in the park: subtly imply you're going alone or, "it's just me and my dog".

She'll mention her boyfriend if she's not interested. If she says, "nothing" then she might just be shy.

If she says, "I haven't planned anything - just me and my dog [dog's name]" or "seeing a film with a friend" - then that's your invitation to strike: ask about their dog [breed and name] and if she knows any good dog parks in the area. Ask if she's been to local outdoor cinema in the park or the local playhouse that you've already vetted.

Carry a fake shopping list and write your mobile number on the back and give it to her as you leave.

Don't worry about burning bridges or feeling embarrassed to visit that store afterwards because you might see her again, all you need to do is acknowledge her with a smile and never worry about it again.

My point is always be prepared, groomed and ready to make the most out of every opportunity. When you speak, ensure everything you say has the opportunity to open doors.

Feel happy about every attempt that yields no results because that was still on opportunity seized and a step towards finding someone special next time.

Dating is awesome because it's a series of gambles where you have nothing to lose, so every opportunity is worth seizing.

Instead of feeling demoralized, focus on the thrill of the hunt.

For context, she said she "needed a break" which I was too stupid not to pick up on that red flag. And in the mean time she's gotten with someone else.

I'm eating healthy, staying active, but I dread having to get back on the horse.

The thrill of the chase is more fun than the catch. Sorry to hear it didn’t end well for you but that’s on her, not you.

That's a framing I didn't really think of, that and the rest of the advice above is going to be really helpful.

I didn't get married until I was 30. Believe me, you're still very young

Acknowledge that right this second, a lot of it is the pain/frustration talking. The fact that you already managed to get in the door and stay there with what I presume was a desirable woman is a good indicator that you'll get there again. Especially if the time and energy you mention means that you've looksmaxxed, make money, and increased your status relative to the average schmuck.

I'm 27 and never been in a relationship, which is becoming increasingly common. You're doing a lot better than you think. 👍

Have a conversation with yourself, ask yourself, what will you do? Nobody here will give you a proper answer, only you will have it.

Do you want to be like “Cipher” who decided to forget it all, and be plugged in, and be part of the system? Or do you want to be someone else, one who’s not a slave, and will always do what’s right.

Nothing worthwhile has easy. This applies to all things in life.

I always found online dating and the like demoralizing. At one point though I worked at a company with a lot of young people and I formed a large friend group that was like 50/50 men and women. Now, that was great. We'd have parties, play drinking games, hang out at each others houses, go on hikes and river tubing and stuff like that. I got to hang out with a lot of women and it never felt like a chore. A lot of them were already in relationships but even those girls were fun to hang out with. I had never really experienced genuine female friendship prior to that point in my life and I really enjoyed it. I distinctly remeber being at wedding with everyone, and taking my friends girlfriend to the dance floor to dance. It was cute and sweet and not weird at all. One night me and another girl were the last ones up. We were debating politics or something on the back porch and I just leaned in and kissed her. Im not going to lie, her reaction was awkward, but then she got it together and kissed me back. Long story short shes now my wife. :)

I guess the TLDR is that it can be fun to be young and single, if you can find a nice friend group with a good proportion of women.

Every single relationship is lopsided. It's impossible for both people to feel the exact same about each other. In your case, it sounds like you were 100% committed, and she was 0%. I'd try to bear that in mind if/when you start thinking about your ex. This type of thinking helped to clear my head back in the day.

As for moving on: You're quite young, and I have no doubt you'll meet someone else. The good news is that if one woman will select you, others will too. Now it's just a matter of timing and figuring out what the next one needs/wants from you, and whether you're willing to offer it or have it to offer.

Best of luck out there!

Give it time. You're only 25. You still have much to learn. You'll look back on this and kick yourself for being so stupid. This is part of life. You make mistakes and learn from them.
