Was Jesus leaving a church with no leadership? That doesn't seem right. Clearly God understood the importance of the physical world and human leadership if He sent His only Son to be the High Priest. He knew He would die for mankind, so He chose Simon Peter to continue His work. So if Peter was/is the first leader of the Christian church in the form in which it existed for about 1,000 years (which is the root of Catholicism)... I don't see how you can say priests were a lost cause. God used prophets all through the Bible and never denounced them (the true prophets of course; false prophets are denounced everywhere).

Jesus ripped on the Pharisees and Sadducees because they basically jew'd the law - they would do things like, rather than caring for their parents in old age (honoring their father and mother), they would make a sacrifice and claim they did it for their parents so they wouldn't have to actually support their parents financially or whatever, and they paid their tithe at the same time. You could even claim the Catholics are becoming a lot like the Pharisees and Sadducees (and therefore modern jews) in their obsession with procedure starting to overcome the focus on God... sort of. As James said, "faith without works is dead," so there *is* something to *how* we worship that matters. While *how* we worship is important, it's at least equally as important that we don't lose sight of *why* and *who* we're worshipping. I.e. the *how* is important because we shouldn't, y'know, perform blood sacrifices of our children even though our focus is on the one true God, because that's not what He wants. So that would be a perversion.

Anyway I don't mean to prattle on. You've got some salient points, but Christ absolutely endorsed the existence of religious authorities. From His own mouth personally (again, disciples, and again, "Upon this rock I will build my church") as well as all throughout the Bible.

No, the post-Vatican II Church is not really the Catholic Church anymore, that's the problem. It doesn't teach the Catholic faith anymore, at least in large parts.

It is very obvious that you need people to interpret scripture if a group of people are supposed to agree on anything. Before 1054, there was only the Catholic Church, there was no "Southern Baptist McPastor" who interpreted the Bible how he liked it (also, there was no Bible, the Bible came from the Catholic Church).

Lutherans disagree with Calvinists, who disagree with Anglicans, who disagree with Baptists, etc. "Sola scriptura" is a retarded concept because you can contradict Christ with the gospel if you really wanted to. It's obvious that there has to be an authoritative magisterium that interprets scripture, defines what even belongs to the Bible and what doesn't, etc. Luther just ursuped that authority and made himself the authority. Every single Protestant Church teaches something else and they are only united in "we are not Catholics".

No, it was to even make it possible to atone for the original sin of Adam. He never said there will never be bad people in the Church or that everyone should interpret scripture in his bedroom however he / she likes. Sola scriptura is nowhere in the bible (neither is sola fide).

He even instituted a "middle man" called Peter in Matthew 16:18. The apostles, did they not exist or what? Jesus very well wanted us to confess our sins to men (Matthew 16:19, Matthew 18:18), those sentences would have no sense otherwise.

Now you could say that the pope lost his office because of his heresy (sedevacantism). Well, I just say he lost the authority, as the job description of the papacy is to "safeguard and keep Tradition". Not everything in the article is a lie and yes, the Jewish (i.e. Torah) religion very well existed at the time of Christ, not sure where you got your history from. Jesus even taught in the temple to the rabbis, he knew Jewish law very well.

The article you posted is correct in that the Catholic Church is the continuation of the Law of Moses. "I came to fulfil the law, not to change it", said Jesus. Open any confession manual, it's just the 10 commandments, that's it. Jesus never abrogated or changed the 10 commandments. And we still need to keep the 10 commandments, they are not abrogated (Phillipians 2:12).
