I don't understand by what metric north korea is even that bad. Seen the videos of people going outside of the tourist areas... okay? And? It's just rural and somewhat impoverished farmland. There's much worse in plenty of other countries.

It's pretty simple. North Korea started life as a regular communist nation. A communist nation that enjoyed the support of 1, and eventually 2, nuclear powers. It was never invaded because those 2 nuclear powers would have been rather irritated about it

The last real government of the Chinese were the Japanese. Ironically. They were the only ones that cared about Asian sovereignty. By the time of the later stages of the Chinese Civil War the KMT had devolved into nothing but a western proxy (and the faggotry of Taiwan is a testament to this) while the CCP was nothing but a soviet proxy.
