I mean, the US and China (the legitimate government, not the communists) were on friendly terms. The US was thinking about restoring the legitimate government of China and throwing out the communists who had taken China by rebellion and subversion.

In all honesty, an invasion of China through Manchuria isn't really possible in modern times. Things were different when horses were the fastest things and the Mongols could ride faster than the messengers.

The last real government of the Chinese were the Japanese. Ironically. They were the only ones that cared about Asian sovereignty. By the time of the later stages of the Chinese Civil War the KMT had devolved into nothing but a western proxy (and the faggotry of Taiwan is a testament to this) while the CCP was nothing but a soviet proxy. And the only reason that the CCP gained primacy was because of how badly the KMT managed to govern anything. The party was almost in its own civil war inside of a civil war. The reason that Germany stopped supporting the kuomintang is precisely because they had head up ass syndrome
