Supreme Court to scrutinize U.S. protections for social media | Reuters

October 3, 2022 By Andrew Chung
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear a challenge to federal protections for internet and social media companies freeing them of responsibility for content posted by users in a case involving an American student fatally shot in a 2015 rampage by Islamist militants in Paris.
The justices took up an appeal by the parents and other relatives of Nohemi Gonzalez, a 23-year-old woman from California who was studying in Paris, of a lower court's ruling that cleared Google LLC-owned YouTube of wrongdoing in a lawsuit seeking monetary damages that the family brought under a U.S. anti-terrorism law. Google and YouTube are part of Alphabet Inc (GOOGL.O).
The Supreme Court also agreed to hear a separate appeal by Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) of the lower court's decision to revive a similar lawsuit against that company, though not on the basis of Section 230 ....

Joel Mathis, October 5, 2022,
The Supreme Court is about to decide the future of the internet.
The court this week agreed to hear a case involving Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which shields internet providers from lawsuits over material posted online by users. The law "helped enable the rise of huge social networks like Facebook and Twitter," ...
"If the Supreme Court erodes Section 230 immunity, it could create a nightmare scenario not just for Big Tech but for anyone [who] runs a website with user-generated content," Axios notes. Legally speaking, then, the whole internet might be up for grabs.

Our home in Cornwall used to be a barren landscape – a former clay mine with no soil or plants. We transformed this huge crater into a beautiful global garden, which sets the stage for an extraordinary day out where you’ll rediscover the natural world as you've never experienced it before.

I'm new to this board. Can we please sticky Eric Dubay's links? He is the clear authority on the topic and it just makes sense.
> Industrial seed oils were invented when there was no meaningful health regulation, then became increasingly popular based on flawed research suggesting they were heart healthy.

> In the intervening 100+ years, numerous in vitro cell studies, animal studies, human clinical trials, and observational studies have demonstrated the toxic effects of seed oils and their byproducts created during heating.

> While there are a few possible benefits to seed oils, such as vitamin E, low amounts of omega-3 ALA, and reduction in cholesterol, according to some studies, these properties aren't unique to seed oils and don't outweigh the potential for harm.

> Industrial seed oils are hard to avoid if you mainly eat food from restaurants and pre-packaged processed foods, but easy to avoid if you learn to read labels and do as much of your cooking as possible.
Description taken from video:

Flat Earth has long been denigrated, derided and disparaged as being the most crackpot of all conspiracy theories, marginalized, mocked and ridiculed for centuries as being an ignorant ancient unscientific worldview, but the facts of the matter are far from what you have been told. When thoroughly examined and diligently researched with an open-mind, any skeptical critical-thinker will find it is actually the tilting, wobbling, spinning space-ball Earth promoted by NASA and taught in schools that is truly ridiculous and unscientific. The following are 20 ways anyone can prove for themselves that Earth is a level stationary plane.

I have intentionally made this to be the most concise yet comprehensive introduction to the Flat Earth possible, packed with proofs and rebuttals to common objections, like an update to my original 200 Proofs. Please help share this documentary on your social medias and with all the globe-Earthers in your life.

To me it's a little early to be thinking about Christmas - maybe after Halloween would be closer but far enough away for there to be a little extra time. After Thanksgiving might be too close to Christmas for kids to think about toys, or adults about presents.

Anyway, so some of the corporations are keeping the "tradition" alive of releasing top toy publications or catalogs. Was it Sears catalogs that used to be put out and were a popular catalog of this kind in the past? Anyone have a history on this?

In any event, I do not endorse Walmart or Amazon but link some of their PDFs of this kind of thing as an example. Anyone have other interesting catalog links to drop, toy or holiday gift ideas, or other thoughts on the topic (such as perhaps something to do instead of consumption, alternative "knock off" cheaper or more educational toys for kids, etc.)?

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [REJECT THE POISON!]( https://take.supersurvey.com/resultsQJUQ7IQPX)
To help set the mood enjoy [Mkultra Victim - Negative XP](https://youtu.be/KI0MfCOjbQ0).

In this weekly, we will REJECT THE POISON!!!

A major aspect of technology and products of our modern world is to induce emotion. The goal being for your brain to produce dopamine so you CONSOOOOOOOOOM PRODUCT AND THEN GET EXCITED FOR NEXT PRODUCTS! Like a smoker opening their wallet to buy another pack of cigarettes. Imagine the poison as a drug being fed daily and nightly to everyone, no one realizes they are addicted, and you barely recognize you are addicted. You see the side effects, the degradation before your eyes. Like a smoker diagnosed with lung cancer but takes another drag. How do you tell others what you have realized? How do you detoxify yourself from the poison? Do you even need to rid yourself of the poison or is it all just a moderation thing? Or is that just what they want you to think?

These are the kinds of fun ideas this weekly is about. Consider this weekly a mkultra victim support group thread / dopamine detox thread.

Discussion ideas:
* What do you think the “poison” is, how would you define it?
* Have you ever noticed negatives due to product consumption? E.g., Felt like you wasted your money after buying a bunch of games on sale, seen someone stressed about money after buying an expensive ultra rare funko pop that they just had to own?
* Suggest ways to dopamine detox.
