And no,actually they were not Romanovs,as last male Romanov were Peter 2nd who died in 1715. And they were replaced by Germans: "Holstein-Gottorp-Romanow". What is quite strange since "Holstein-Gottorp" and "Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha" replaced most of the monarch families... Were it natural or not ?
