IQ tests are not biased and measure real general intelligence (ref. The Bell Curve). But I like OPs argument better because it was probably more effective than arguing about facts.
The excuse is bullshit, IQ tests test recognizing patterns (i.e. pattern A -> pattern B = pattern C expected). Even if you cannot read, you can figure out a shape-based logic test. Even verbal tests are based on questions like "find a synonym for X", you don't need "Western intelligence" for that.
this. we test kids for IQ at age 2. it's entirely about pattern recognition at that age. there's no math or vocabulary on the test. asians start as early as age 2 also.

On a population scale what you say is true. But it's not uncommon for a high-iq individual to be born to average parents, or high-iq parents to give birth to average-iq kids.
Yes, but it's a deviation from the norm. Our genetics not only depend on our parents, but also all ancestors before them. So there is some randomization factor because some amount of your ancestors probably had genes which made them more intelligent. And given that the ancestry of 2 people is combined (the man and the woman), and that often people do not even know their ancestry, and it's almost impossible to know if and how many of them were intelligent, it's getting quite unpredictable ("random").
