I've gotten some weird responses about this post, like in some areas they might be doing real well but in others they have disappeared mostly.

Overall I think they are threatened but the issue seems to have been politicized possibly, you can look it up if you want

I don't remember the last time I asked about this, but it was months or a year ago

Do people date and marry less?

What's new in the dating / marriage scene?

I think I have an atypical experience of things but it just seems to keep worsening, actual relationships from a generation or two ago seem non-existent and are replaced by uncomfortable unreliable associations

I see a lot of open MGTOW or redpill content on social media

So is anything new about dating / marriage in the current year?

\> why yes I do live in a cocoon, how could you tell
None
"Cocoon mode" was an idea of basically becoming "anti-social" for a period of time with a greater singular focus on getting work done. Like a caterpillar going in to a cocoon to become a butterfly.

Anyone have any experience with this?

How did it go?

Would you do it again?

Tips for doing it well?

Thoughts on "cocoon mode"?

\> big monke energy

I do think people need to unplug more

I was just thinking today about how technology is such an enslaving trade off

I honestly don't know what to say, it feels like tech forces us to have to use tech a certain amount (technolslavery)

that's why I didn't understand how this ruling stands at all, isn't it policing private belief?

It didn't seem like AJ personally did anything to those families

yeah certain kinds of arts for real I think are decent to print, something I printed looked really nice and old fashioned and I framed it and it looks like some professional piece of art reprint, so this is a good suggestion

A lot of things are just seen on screens and not printed out, but I was wondering if people have ideas of things that are worth printing out.

I guess anything that could have a moderately long term value.

Any ideas of good data to back up on paper?

What do you still print on paper or think printing is useful for?
Pros: speaks positively of traditional gender roles, gives some practical success tips for men to be able to exercise / make an income / compete, speaks on becoming aware of the "system" and trying to beat it

[edit: removing list of cons as it's kind of detraction]

Thoughts on Andrew Tate?
(idk if arete has lots of nonwhite posters)

saw some white kids listening to rap IRL and a white girl posting some rap she was listening to

seemed like the white people of a few decades ago thought rap to not be music or be inferior music

do u feel this way or has rap been also made by white people you like or what do people think about rap?

I remember rock music was thought to be "demonic". Rock came from jazz roots, and jazz was also thought to be " degenerate" and to have come from african roots. Rap I think morphed from rock.

But what's wrong with the musical forms? One problem seems to be the steady beat or rhythm. We know that like classical music simply doesn't sound the same, yet a lot of objections haven't been raised towards classical as a musical form.

So what do you think of rap?

good to see more traffic here

and would be nice to see more gardens

The thing is, it can be a good thing that the U.S. grows less of its own food

It's really a question of how many gains you want to make economically and how you want to engage in division of labor

Because it's simple economics that if you can say work as a programmer for double the money you can farming, then if you outsource the food production somewhere else while you're a programmer, you make more money and everyone can kind of "win" with there being higher productivity

however, this doesn't work out purely because we don't live in a perfect world. If we didn't grow any of our own food, and the people we get our food from one day decided they don't want to sell to us, we would face food shortages.

So I suspect there may be some conversations to be had about the tradeoffs between gains from division of labor versus security of doing some of these things ourselves

It's an open question of how much risk people want to take
