(Posted for President's Day 2023)

(Note: I have a scanned copy of this prayer and copied / pasted from a site and tried to manually check it for any changes or errors; you can find a version and double check yourself if you'd like)

> We pray Thee, O Almighty and Eternal God! Who through Jesus Christ hast revealed Thy glory to all nations, to preserve the works of Thy mercy, that Thy Church, being spread through the whole world, may continue with unchanging faith in the confession of Thy Name.

> We pray Thee, who alone art good and holy, to endow with heavenly knowledge, sincere zeal, and sanctity of life, our chief bishop, N.N., the Vicar of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in the government of His Church; our own bishop, N.N. (or archbishop); all other bishops, prelates, and pastors of the Church; and especially those who are appointed to exercise amongst us the functions of the holy ministry, and conduct Thy people into the ways of salvation.

> We pray Thee O God of might, wisdom, and justice! Through whom authority is rightly administered, laws are enacted, and judgment decreed, assist with Thy Holy Spirit of counsel and fortitude the President of these United States, that his administration may be conducted in righteousness, and be eminently useful to Thy people over whom he presides; by encouraging due respect for virtue and religion; by a faithful execution of the laws in justice and mercy; and by restraining vice and immorality.

> Let the light of Thy divine wisdom direct the deliberations of Congress, and shine forth in all the proceedings and laws framed for our rule and government, so that they may tend to the preservation of peace, the promotion of national happiness, the increase of industry, sobriety, and useful knowledge; and may perpetuate to us the blessing of equal liberty.

> We pray for his excellency, the Governor of this State, for the members of the Assembly, for all judges, magistrates, and other officers who are appointed to guard our political welfare, that they may be enabled, by Thy powerful protection, to discharge the duties of their respective stations with honesty and ability.

> We recommend likewise, to Thy unbounded mercy, all our brethren and fellow citizens throughout the United States, that they may be blessed in the knowledge and sanctified in the observance of Thy most holy law; that they may be preserved in union, and in that peace which the world cannot give; and after enjoying the blessings of this life, be admitted to those which are eternal.

> Finally, we pray to Thee, O Lord of mercy, to remember the souls of Thy servants departed who are gone before us with the sign of faith and repose in the sleep of peace; the souls of our parents, relatives, and friends; of those who, when living, were members of this congregation, and particularly of such as are lately deceased; of all benefactors who, by their donations or legacies to this Church, witnessed their zeal for the decency of divine worship and proved their claim to our grateful and charitable remembrance. To these, O Lord, and to all that rest in Christ, grant, we beseech Thee, a place of refreshment, light, and everlasting peace, through the same Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. Amen.

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [Guerilla Gardening]( https://arete.network/polls/6fe72938-9142-4358-9916-008c3066bebd/)

“If you seed, what I seed. You can seed the future!” – said some boomer somewhere.

In this weekly we CONSOOOOOOOOM Guerilla Gardening. Basically, Guerilla Gardening is simply just gardening in areas where you may not have permission.
The concept of Guerilla Gardening started in the 70s. The main idea behind it is to simply beautify decrepit neglected areas of land through gardening (typically without asking the owner of the land). This idea, if you will, sprouted around the world and is often practiced in urban areas. A tool of the guerilla gardener is the seed bomb, and it is used to cover large areas fast. Think Johnny Appleseed but urban rogue.

Now in all fairness, today most guerilla gardening is really quasi-legal community gardening clubs / organizations. And that isn’t a bad thing from the view of it being a fun hobby. A good explanation of Guerilla Gardening can be heard from [Richard Reynolds](https://youtu.be/mQPZsD8nKu4) a well-known guerilla gardener.

Discussion ideas:
* Is Guerilla Gardening bad? I.e., should people be harshly punished for gardening in places without permission?
* Do you think the area you live in could benefit from Guerilla Gardening? What kinds of plants would improve the area? Would you consider participating in “International Sunflower Guerilla Gardening Day”?
* Recommend robust plants for urban areas or share gardening advice.

I haven't read this book yet but it sounds like an interesting title on the concept of securing living (and family) wages in society, ideally voluntarily but I think the author might argue for the government to intervene to do so (and was referenced in an article on the topic, I think as one of perhaps the first books talking about this from this theological perspective).

One of the four serious sins that "cry out to heaven for vengeance" is "defrauding workers of their wages": https://infogalactic.com/info/Sins_that_cry_to_heaven

This is obviously a problem as an individual worker needs to be able to earn a living to survive, and likewise the breadwinner(s) of a family need to be able to earn a living "family wage" in order for their family to survive.

I was curious where people think that wage injustice exists today and what might be done to remedy the problem.

The Dig - Gog and Magog: A new understanding - [2.10.50]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUTTDaEbyHY
In biblical prophecy, two names stand out as signposts for the Apocalypse - Gog and Magog. Students of prophecy firmly believe that Gog and Magog means Russia (Tobolsk and Moscow being the same as Tubal and Meshek!), but with the publication of the Cepher Yashar (the Book of Jasher) information that has been otherwise withheld from the public comes to light as to the location of the House of Yapheth -- and that information changes everything!
We know Yapheth to the lands to the north, but Yashar tells us exactly which lands . . . and, as students of the Dig might well imagine, current archeological finds and the rigorous unveiling of history, now corroborate a new narrative, even a new understanding. Where did the tribes of Yashar actually land? Yashar tells us a narrative that is revealing, yet, in all of its disclosure, Magog, the son of Yapheth, goes without mention!
Fear not, because an ancient historian - one Geoffrey of Monmouth - tells us the rest of the story; a story not only told over and over again through the centuries, but one that is celebrated even today. Gog and Magog will surprise you, and one particular passage in Ezekiel makes it clear that Gog and Magog are not who we have always thought they were.
Join us tonight on the Dig with pick-axe and shovel in hand, as we sort through the record to see if we can make sense of the cryptic prophecy found in Yekhezq'el (Ezekiel) 38 and 39.

Do you have personal tips on how to clean electronics?

Should you rubbing alcohol to clean sensitive electronic parts?

Do you have compressed air or an electric compressed air duster or recommendations on tools to acquire?
