The amount of fucking morons that this jew has put on the road with his shit ass cars is enough to make him unforgivable. First automatic transmissions, now unreliable self driving cars? Soon you will not be able to drive without being crashed into by some nigger half asleep in his self driving tesla. The technology is pure shit and it's already been proven to not be able to recognize pedestrians and it cannot steer itself properly. Not to rant, but ever wonder why drivers are getting worse? Especially Americans? Every new advancement made to make it "easier" takes away actual engagement on the road. Automatic transmissions create no necessity to pay attention to your gearbox, so driving lacks thinking, which makes worse drivers. Even manuals that have all kinds of assists make you slightly worse. A self driving car? You're setting yourself up for failure out the gate. Nothing as dangerous as driving should be made more boring and with more complacency. And not everyone should do it. The fact that American infrastructure is so car-centric ironically makes it significantly worse for motorists because retards who "drive" self driving cars, along with regular cars with drivers who cannot drive at all, share the road. I myself get bored and complacent on the rare occasion I have to drive an automatic. It *is* boring and easy, which is not a good thing.

Such a great post, and I totally agree. I’ve had a similar discussion a few times when the topic of “smartphones” in your pocket comes up, how’s it’s dumbed us all down, and caused us to stop taking a moment to just think about things, and recall memory, especially those whom were born after 1990, or so. Coincidentally around the same time said kids were becoming of driving age, the cars were also, at least in my opinion, becoming overly computerized, and automated with way too many many assists, and what I call lazy driver options. They also started becoming much more difficult to work on yourself. There’s a reason the “cash for clunkers” was employed when it was. I’ll personally never own a vehicle built after 2010, unless it’s actually given to me by someone else.
Shit, almost nobody can parallel park anymore without all kinds of assist, let alone back into a parking space. Watching people try to reverse out of situations in general is downright “comical” today. You use to actually have to learn your vehicle, and become one with it while developing spacial awareness. That shit is beyond dead now. As far as smartphones are concerned, most people can’t even remember more than one, or two phone numbers tops, meanwhile when I was around 6 or so, I could rattle off everyone’s phone number I knew. I’m talking around 20 friends, and family no problem. Another thing people refuse to do, is trust themselves with basic math anymore. I’m talking basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. They always pull out their calculator app before they even attempt to compute it themselves. It’s sad.

I've got a 5-speed european econobox with a comically underpowered engine (performs well on highways because it weighs nothing, but still) from 1996. I've driven exclusively standard since I turned 18 (except when I have to use company vehicles). My dad taught me how to drive stick before i knew how to drive at all in a chevy s10 from the 80s. Still, even though im well experienced, my current car has absolutely 0 distractions and 0 assists because it's an old European econobox of course. As a result, I genuinely feel like a better driver with this than I did with past cars. You have to stay fully locked in, there's no cruise control, no hill assists, and the engine wants to stall at the drop of a hat when moving off in first because it's a petrol with a whopping 57 horsepower and 0 torque. But it's fun to drive, and it keeps me engaged all the time I'm using it.
