Not to rant, but ever wonder why drivers are getting worse? Especially Americans? Every new advancement made to make it "easier" takes away actual engagement on the road. Automatic transmissions create no necessity to pay attention to your gearbox, so driving lacks thinking, which makes worse drivers. Even manuals that have all kinds of assists make you slightly worse. A self driving car? You're setting yourself up for failure out the gate. Nothing as dangerous as driving should be made more boring and with more complacency. And not everyone should do it. The fact that American infrastructure is so car-centric ironically makes it significantly worse for motorists because retards who "drive" self driving cars, along with regular cars with drivers who cannot drive at all, share the road. I myself get bored and complacent on the rare occasion I have to drive an automatic. It *is* boring and easy, which is not a good thing.
