Electron microscopes cannot view carbon material. What you're looking at in an electron microscope is an inoculate equaling a throat swab of someone immersed in 2ml of milk, 100 u/mi Penicillin, 50 mg/ml Streptomycin, then sample centrifuging it at 5450 rpm for almost an hour then putting it with a culture medium of bovine amniotic fluid, beef embryo extract, horse serum, antibiotics and phenol red radiated with iron so that the oxides reflect off the lens of the microscope.
