Anime is just the Japanese (loanword from French) word for cartoons/animation. If I remember right, they call King of the Hill an American Anime, and they discuss it much like Americans might discuss a Japanese "slice-of-life" anime.
What you've posted is an example of "Manga", which is like a comic or a graphic novel. They even have "Yonkoma" which is roughly equivalent to a comic strip, in that it's short-form, having only a few panels.
Japanese media, much like American media, varies in subject matter and quality.
I'm guessing what you've got an issue with, when you say you hate 'anime', is the various forms of low-brow onanistic slop. That, you can blame the jews for.
Cartoons and comics are just mediums for telling stories and they are for people who want to tell a story but don't have the budget to hire actors and actresses and don't have the money to create big CGI effects. One person cannot make a full live action movie with actors and actresses, but one person can pick up a pen and start writing his own story without any help from others.
LOTGH is an anime that talks about how the Empire of the show, came about because the previous Republic became degenerate and corrupt so much that people voted for a dictator to sweep the degeneracy away. That is not a children's plot, and its the only fictional show i've seen that made direct referances about the degeneracy of the Weimar Republic despite this show being a "cartoon".
Cave drawings were the first 'cartoons' to exist and probably existed before written language. They depict life in those times. You probably wouldn't have written language without 'cartoons'. Much like how people bash on video games. Without gaming you wouldn't have the tech advancements we have today.
