yeah, sometimes I just post things to think about the concept
 
on this one I see pros and cons
 
this actual project might be objected to like you mention due to the board being a bit "iffy"
 
is the carless community concept useful?
 
or is it something that is a sign of things declining?
 
I can go both ways on this, either we should make personal transportation like cars cheaper and more eco-friendly, or if they are too costly and environmentally intensive, then perhaps we should seek alternative arrangements and designs

I think there is value in communities like this, as long as their motivation isn't purely surface level ecology improvements. If you can form a carless community which is focused on bringing young families together or coupling young people, and that is the main goal, it is less prone to corruption .
