If this is the one that happened early last year, the very next meeting everyone including the sheriff and the officer who nade the illegal detainment and "totally not an actual arrest even though he removed them from the area but it totally wasn't an arrest without charges and illegitimate in the first place because it was a violation of civil rights" were served with a civil right violation lawsuit by the lawyer. Some of the board members ran away and abandoned the meeting while some of those who remained would not touch the paperwork when the lawyer legally served them with it.

So what happens if they don’t touch the paperwork? I mean whats the next step for the lawyer? I doubt they can just ignore it and get away with it?

The lawyer uses a guy who specializes in serving papers (a process server), who will wear a disguise like a fedex outfit or whatever in order to deliver the papers to the people being served. Once he gets them to touch the papers, they have no choice but to show for court, otherwise they’re breaking the law. Then the lawyer can sue the shit out of them.
