(((They))) wanted a Pro-Israel Syria. Assad said no. Billions of dollars and many years later, they finally toppled him. Now they have their Pro-Israel Syria.
Iran fucked it up by destroying sunni Shia relations in Iraq over time, absolutely ruining their relationship with iraq *immediately* after 1979, and then whispering sweet nothings into Hafez Al-assad's ear because he was an alawite (branch of shia) that got him fully on team Iran over Iraq (their relationship was already marred by political differences but that *really* did it in for them)

"How can you say you're living like the dead with... uhhh... nice haircut and clothes"
Meanwhile in the face the man looks gaunt, worn out, and utterly miserable.
Man, I don't know, maybe it's because they have had to deal with the slow encroachment of illegal occupiers for over 70 years. Middle easterners still give a fuck about being presentable regardless of circumstance too (remember, back in the day even the most dirt poor people had a suit). This means nothing. A good haircut is dirt cheap in those places too (even adjusting for the means of the people there). I know because I've been.
Israel has been fucking them over in every aspect for decades. That's why they're living like the dead. They're occupied by evil genocidal jews.
Yeah but they just despise jews for absolutely no reason, just like everyone else who *ever* lived with them. Hell, Arabs are some of the few people who were ever actually okay with jews. Until jews started living there in number. Then they did jew shit and made Arabs hate them. As per usual.
He should've kept the chemical weapons, and better yet, added some nukes long ago.
Nothing like gas and a Plutonium-powered oven to strike fear into the goblins.
Maybe Iran will learn from Assad's mistakes...
He never even really had that much to begin with to be honest
>added some nukes long ago.
Would have had america at the doorstep in defense of pissrael within mere seconds after starting development
>Maybe Iran will learn from Assad's mistakes
Iran's influence on syrian alawites is possibly the biggest reason why syria and Iraq never became a unified country so it is kind of directly their fault that this ever happened. The alternative scenario of iraq + syria (and at one point egypt was also included) would have created a massive power player in the region. It didn't even have to be one country. A UK scenario would have worked well. Israel might not exist anymore in this scenario. Iraq already was a major power on their own. I hope Iran can redeem themselves if anything.
Shekelsniffers didn't like that idea at all...
