Cooking oil in general is bad for you, it's the truth but nobody wants to accept it because we're too used to eating it.
Anything man made or processed is generally bad for you, that includes cooking oils.
> The expert pointed out that there is an "overwhelming body of scientific literature" that shows the positive health benefits of replacing saturated fats (like lard and butter) with unsaturated fats (like safflower oil).
Misleading. It is all bad, some oils are just better than others. You know when they say "Olive oil is healthy" they forget to mention it's healthier in relation to other oils, it isn't inherently healthy. It's processed and you're better off just not eating it if you can.
They should be saying "This oil is the least bad", but normie doctors don't know anything, so here we are.

I enjoy eating. I don't care to that extreme about healthy eating. Olive oil and avocado oil and butter in everything. I just picked up some ghee for the first time. I will be using that toxin as well.

nah, olive oil is great for you...
so long as you don't scorch the shit out of it. olive oil burns at 350+.
part of it is hypertriglyceridemia, aka too much fat in the blood. if you have the condition (most westerners do), you can basically clean out your blood by replacing bad fats with good fats. seed oils are basically fucking poison, while fruit oils (olive, coconut, avocado) and fish oil clean your shit out.
glaxo makes lovaza for this exact problem. it's just purified sardine oil at 90%+ EPA/DHA/DPA. it's manufactured by a korean company called chemport, and the oil is called megapex. there's unique regulatory status for fish oil and about 600 other drugs that were grandfathered in before the food drug and cosmetic act was passed. it's why you can buy pharma grade fish oil (megapex) without you getting a prescription or the manufacturer going through drug trials. because of this, chemport sells megapex through plenty of other brands, and you can buy without a prescription. just look on the label... one gel is usually 1000mg. EPA, DHA, and DPA are going to be some percentage of that... if it's over 70%, it's likely megapex, and if it's over 90%, it's definitely megapex. they're basically the only company on the planet that does it.
every western male over age 30 should be taking this shit.
fruit oils and most fish oils are literally just fruit/fish squished until the oil comes out. then they strain it, let it settle to separate, and skim the oil. that's it. you can do this in a jug at home. people all over the mediterranean have been doing it for over a thousand years.
Mate, olive oil has been used extensively in Mediterranean cooking for at least 7,000 years. If it had detrimental side effects like true seed oils (rapeseed aka "canola" oil, vegetable oil, etc.), they would've made themselves apparent a very very very long time ago. In reality, the Mediterranean Diet has been almost universally lauded as the healthiest culinary bloc in the world.
