FPNI except I like to start with cold water first to shock my body and see how long I can take it. No more than 5 minutes. This is for morning shower of course. Don’t do this in the evening. Hot showers right before bed will actually cool your body temperature down and help you sleep better.
Cold is great in general. I try to lay out everyday naked on both sides for 10 minutes on each side to get sun, and lately it’s been in temps under 60 degrees. It’s a nice challenge to see how long you can brave the cold too. Gets the blood flowing and heart pumping IMHO. It’s good to shiver. Cousin also has a pool that I’ll jump into every once in a while to challenge myself.

Showers can't reach the temperatures needed to make any difference. For a regular shower, around body temperature should be fine. Not to hot, not to cold. Might wanna take a hot shower during winder and cold ones in the summer.
But to really enjoy the benefits, heat up the sauna to 100C, make steam and boil for a while. Then you go outside to nearest lake in -10C, drill a hole in the ice and jump in to cool down. Repeat a few times and it should have some positive impact on your skin, making it stronger I bet.
Do whatever you prefer. Those are the things you hear anyway. "Cold showers are better for you!" - Cold shower person "Hot showers are good for you!" - Hot shower person.
Wim Hoff goes into literal freezing cold, which some people say helps with muscle pains, so cryochambers have become a thing, but these are freezing temperatures that actually could kill you in slightly longer amounts.
Start hot finish cold does keep you from sweating fresh out of the shower. But going in to freezing cold water for the first minute or two really does have benefits. Most notably less body aches. I did it for a while but when the seasons changed I quit because I’m a piece of shit and a hot shower in a cold ass apartment felt better.
Cold showers are better for me personally because I have excema and super sensitive skin. Hot showers make my skin all red and more prone to itchiness.
and then finishing the shower on cold water to close up the pores
that's what i do anyway.
