I'm sorry, you're wrong. There is no product or sales in this app. It is purely free.

Church donations and resources fund its development and the research and transcription of genealogical data. It's one of the primary purposes of the church, and if we don't do it, Jesus promised to destroy us.

?

The church is spending a lot of money hiring people to go find old records and add them to the database.

Is that the DLC?

Generally speaking, if the product's free there's something else they're taking. Pornography, for example.

There are people who genuinely care about their fellow human beings, and are willing to provide something as a free service out of their own pocket.

I know it's hard to believe.

But the church gets literally nothing from people using the site and looking up their family records.

Yes it's completely free. It will always be free.

It's paid for by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

We have been gathering genealogical data from every source we are allowed to access and making it publicly and freely available for everyone for a long time now. We intend to get all of it.

The purpose of the app is to connect people with their ancestors. You get to learn about your ancestors and hopefully that makes you a better person.

We also use it so that the members of the church can perform salvific ordinances for their dead ancestors. If you don't understand what this means, you can find the nearest LDS missionaries and they'd be happy to explain what it means.

If the church fails to perform these ordinances for every person who ever lived on planet Earth, then Jesus will condemn us for not doing our duty.

Why dont LDS offer use of their canneries anymore? At least not in my city.

Obama shut them down.

They required that a USDA person be on-site and paid by the church to can.

So the church said they just won't can anymore.

If Trump revokes that EO, then the canneries will likely open up again. I'm surprised he didn't in 2016-2020.
