Found out that I am a descendant of both Charlemange and Harald Bluetooth thanks to the FamilySearch app - all this on my paternal Grandfather's side of the family (1/4th of my ancestry). Give it a try and give yourself something to be proud of. I know I'll be searching for more.

Obama shut them down.
They required that a USDA person be on-site and paid by the church to can.
So the church said they just won't can anymore.
If Trump revokes that EO, then the canneries will likely open up again. I'm surprised he didn't in 2016-2020.
