I mean when 99% of vidya is pozzed trash, you get more entertainment out of watching someone else play it rather than waste your own money & time
though to be frank, the vidya that ISN'T trash is probably worth playing yourself rather than watch some faggot/thot stream it
though i will admit, i have watched modded streams of certain games to gain insight/skill on how to play it appropriately (Stalker GAMMA for example) its not all terrible but i get ya.
Though I thinks the whole game watching phenomenon (Which I am also guilty of, I like watching boss compilations to get a sense if the game is any good and whether or not its story is retarded) is more of result of people not having the money to buy said game but still wanting to see if its good or not.
Oh, and of course the whole fake-friendship angle, because social media has destroyed a generation

It's just strange because back in the 1980's you had to wait your turn to play an arcade game and watching other people play sucked compared to getting the chance to play yourself.
I do think that there may be a negative psychosis related to this modern trend of watching other people's reaction videos instead of just having your own experiences and reactions. It teaches you to LEARN how to react to something rather than having genuine natural real reactions of your own.
Have you noticed how people PRETEND to be shocked? I see it all the time. The pretend shock. A trained reaction like a dog does for a treat.
People LEARNED to react a certain way.
I remember crowds around machines in the arcade watching other kids play, especially if they were good. I have never played [Dragon's Lair](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfqylgfU0Tc) but watched it.
The [Star Wars X-Wing Sit Down Arcade Machine](https://arcadedirect.co.uk/star-wars-x-wing-sit-down-arcade-machine/) even had a viewing panel so you watch someone play.
Kids could just play their own video games.
Strange times
