Currently work part-time as janitor while finishing my bs in cs and I make pennies, so I've been trying to find a new job for the last year and have gotten exactly NOTHING. This summer alone I must have applied to dozens of different places and it amounted to fuck all. So I thought, "well, maybe I should just wait until I graduate and try to find something", so I started looking into tech jobs.

EVERYTHING IS AT LEAST 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE. LICENSES IN THIS OR THAT. NEEDING COMPTIA A+ AND OTHER SHIT. Basically, if you aren't already experienced, get fucked. Even if I didn't hate coding, I couldn't find a entry level software job either, they ALL had similar bullshit requirements. The tech industry is so fucking oversaturated it's insane, why was I fed this lie that this was where the big money is? I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from going to college at all and instead go into a trade.

At this point, I don't know what to do. I hate this gay country.

Understand that you won't get much of a job in CS without a degree. My best friend does not have a degree and he works in IT. No shortage of jobs there. You may have to start out in a call center like he did, but he works in server farms now.

Also keep in mind when you apply to a job, you will be competing with literally thousands of hindus who flood every company in White countries with resumes. Companies are starting to figure out that hindus are worse than satan, so you will need to do more than "fire and forget"/sending your resume to get a job.

Always always always include a picture of yourself. I know DEI hiring is practiced but anyone sane will see you and go yea finally a White man

Next big thing is AI when it comes to anything computer related, administrative or even programming. Only a few skilled White employees will be needed to review and correct issues while the majority of "nigger work" is done by AI.

If you work as a disk nigger in a data center you may be able to keep your job for 10 more years or so before being replaced by a robot.

Driving related jobs will be around for a few more decades at least as AI can't really replace drivers yet, and it will struggle to do so.

The best jobs you can have right now is a tradesman job, carpenter, plumper, welder, electrician, elevator repairman and so on. These are well paid jobs, requires minimal skills to start and you learn over time, and they're physical and tricky hence nearly impossible to be replaced by AI so there will always be work.

Higher education is a waste of money unless you live in a country with public education, then it's just a waste of time. You'll literally educate yourself for a job that won't exist in larger quantities once you're done. But if you do wanna go down the CS line, start your own business and provide a service, that's the best way to survive.

All great points. I'll throw my pitch in here for learning electro-mechanical engineering or EM applied sciences, as I own a machine tool repair and rebuild company - and am always in desperate need of qualified mechanics and engineers. It's a trade that can't be outsourced or automated, and if you are a controls engineer who is willing to travel and spend time on the shop floor, the industry will let you name your price.

Sounds like you're in the early stages of trying to figure it all out. Don't be unnecessarily hard on yourself. Coming from humble beginnings instead of skipping right out of the gate into a cushy job will earn you a lot more respect down the line.

I'm having the same problem. Can't find a job worth a fuck as a blue collar either.

Have you considered a skilled trade (electrician, heating and air, etc.)?

Yeah, I was planning on being an electrician but I'm too ditzy. I'm a carpenter but nobody is willing to pay a wage that comes anywhere close to warehouse shit.

HVAC is a maybe. But it's $19 an hour as an apprentice working weekends for a few years or working in a warehouse for $25.

You may have to start there. It's better than getting a history degree and having $20k in student loans.

Job market is fucked right now. Took me almost a year of applying to multiple places a week to land a job after graduating with my engineering degree. Everywhere wanted 3+ years of experience whereas I hadn't even had an internship. (not for a lack of trying)
Feed your resume and the job description into chatgpt and have it draft a cover letter for each job you apply to. With a bit of editing you can have a cover letter for each application in under 30 minutes

Get a job at the Best Buy Geek Squad. Do it for a year and pass a couple Comptia certs or the MS ones. Now you’ll be able to get a lower level sysadmin job. You will now not be starving. If you’re lucky you’ll be at a big enough corp where you’ll notice a lot of lazy sysadmins and will easily be able to jump them and start coding for small things to help make your job easier. After a year or two move to a real sysadmin gig where you’ll be making a proper living. Either within the company or with a new one. After this you can keep moving in this direction or move to a coding gig or move towards a network engineering gig. All of these make a good living. You just don’t know the exact path until you start moving in this direction. I ended up moving to networking and made a great living wage. Enough to where I don’t have to do IT type work anymore. I’m not rich or retired, but have enough to work a shit hourly wage job and not be behind a monitor for 50+hrs/wk.
Oh, that’s another thing, you will get burned out eventually, so don’t buy the biggest house or expensive cars when you’re making lots of money. Save and buy assets and keep your living standards close to Walmart wages.

Apply to small companies.

Same for me. I wasted ~7 years with higher education. I hated the jumping through the hoops thing, I hated that I was forced to learn nonsense that was also hard, I hated the culture, I hated the bureaucracy.

For example I apply logic (in programming and code) on quite a sophisticated level. Nothing I learned in "logic" studies has ANY value.

It took me 2 weeks to get a developer job, and I was good, clearly above average (assuming an average in the company). Getting that job and doing the job was so much better than studying and jumping hoops.

But that was back then... today it seems you are fucked as a starter in most areas.

CS is an oversaturated market. You need to do something to stand out from your peers without experience which is going to be certs. I'd recommend going the security route as there will always be demand.

IT is where the big money is. One of my friends develops random AI projects for $400k+/yr. But he's very intelligent and has a great portfolio on top of virtually every cert that's relevant to his field.

Having just a BS in CS is basically like just having a BS in psychology.

You could also try looking for positions at small startups that don't have experience requirements to gain experience and start developing a portfolio/resume. Versatility is king in the IT sector, most people will change jobs every year or so to build out their resume with all kinds of different fields/specialties.

Best of luck, faggot.

You really want to work in an industry overwhelmed with cheap third world immigrants - pajeets in particular? Fuck that. Learn a trade.

It seems to be the only way to get ahead now. I mean, if the government can do it, why can’t we? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Lol, I walked this same path almost 20 years ago. The only people that make money in STEM are the ones at the top. Nobody pays money for a job that *everyone* wants to do (ask a teacher) so, unless you have rare skills, you get nothing.

I literally made more money in my first year roofing than my fifth year into my STEM "career". One programmer can write software for 100 million smart homes, but roofers can only do a few hundred roofs a year; who's more in demand?

Don't give up man, all you need to do is keep applying to shit. I spent 6 months job searching after graduating with my BS in basically computer information systems. Got a fully remote job primarily doing database coding in sql and frontend application of a new system (they were hiring for the project). Pays like shit for a 4 year degree job but the expectations for me are pretty low and the work-life balance is amazing.

Just gotta keep trying - I sent hundreds of applications to the wrong job types as well (like web dev - I only had one major project and my head wasn't really in the game). But I did land some interviews for it, I just failed the few I did get to.

Keep at it man and find your niche, if you have a BS in CS you can find something because my degree was technically worse as all the CS students at my school took objectively harder classes. Our degree program was all easier shit - and we only took a few classes alongside the CS guys.

Yeah, but my issue is that I don’t code or anything in my free time so since it’s going to take me so long to find something I fear I’m going to be clueless on what to do by virtue of forgetting. Hell, if it wasn’t for AI like ChatGPT I wouldn’t be graduating at all.
