In 2025 I’m going to get me a new oven and only buy White sourced ingredients. I wonder if there is an Amish based flour company. Most of the other ingredients I can source locally. You cannot buy a decent loaf 🍞 at the store any longer. The fancy grocer has 8-Dollar loafs of ‘good bread’ but I don’t really trust those.

Especially when it's fancy sandwich bread. I bought a nice walnut and raisin sourdough loaf at the farmers market for $15.00. It was good, but I'm unlikely to buy that again.
Very cool. I'll have to get a new oven, but it's a good investment because I like to bake fruit cakes during the winter. Pumpkin or zucchini bread in the fall is pretty alright as well.
only exception I'll probably make is this jewish rye bread and corned beef I buy. I make corned beef hash with it that's crispy and delicious, even to some changing their mind on corned beef hash.
I think the real value though is getting to know the sellers and possibly learning from them; maybe even volunteering time and effort to help out.
Feel free to sperg tho if you must.
