Hypothetically if somebody filled their yacht with guns and sailed into international waters, and then somebody from the UK met them there in their own yacht and purchased all those guns…would that be illegal?

The UK is an island, you need to get on by ferry or the Eurotunnel and the sniffer dog crew will be on you

2) the sea was not removed

Again, uk is in eu when it comes to borders, you can go in and out with minimal friction.
