In this weekly we consoom the falling market! Some report that inflation is increasing while others argue it’s nothing to worry about. Simply going to the grocery store you will quickly notice the price of most things has increased, especially for the basics e.g., eggs, milk, and meats. If you follow the news even a little you have likely seen frequent headlines like X stock has reached all time low, Y cryptocoin is crashing, or Z utility is increasing in price. Given recent world events like the covid pandemic, and the “Russian special military operation” one might worry the world is on fire. When we speak of the teaching of scripture, many doctrines can be readily explained in both the Old and New Testaments. In fact, the Cepher Chazon (Book of Revelation) is a running set of citations from the Old Testament on a verse by verse basis - sometimes capturing whole chapters in a single verse.
Yet one doctrine emerges from the New Testament that is simply not found in the Old Testament, and two doctrines which emerge outside the edges of the Tanakh. It is of some interest that the phrase "Holy Spirit" appears only three times in the KJV version of the Old Testament - once in the Psalms, and twice in Isaiah (Yesha'yahu); yet the very idea suffered rejection by the Sadducees. The idea of "angels" as opposed to simple messengers was also a concept rejected by the Sadducees.
However, the doctrine that simply does not appear at all in the Old Testament is the doctrine concerning the resurrection. What exactly is this claim? How was it established? What does it mean for us?
