We have a guy where I work, his entire job is to get the insurance companies to pay. Not "a lot", just for the basics. Paint after a wall is replaced. Propper metals on roofs. Insulation. They'll take off anything they can get away with.
The average claim, he adds 30% to the total. Some he adds more. The only time he doesn't get it is when the homeowners are unable to wait for the process, so they take the first low offer and get a worse quality home for it.
