It’s crazy how much they charge, and when you finally need them in some of the most difficult times in your life, they make you fight tooth, and nail to get the service YOU THINK you’re paying for. They sit on it, ignore you, and do everything they can to avoid paying you as long as possible, IF AT ALL. Meanwhile all that policy money they refuse to pay out is being used to gain interest, and for other business endeavors while you likely remain homeless, and/or destitute. I know of four families who have been fucked over by insurance companies over the last 20 years, or so. I’m pretty sure the stress of fighting for what was rightfully his killed an older friend of mine after Katrina.
The average claim, he adds 30% to the total. Some he adds more. The only time he doesn't get it is when the homeowners are unable to wait for the process, so they take the first low offer and get a worse quality home for it.
