When this came out, the show was actually often interpreted as being anti-Obama, lol. Note the stuff about "change" and universal healthcare. Basically the network cashing in on the early tea party stuff. The whole reptilian thing was just a carry over from the older original series

Believe it or not the same shit we deal with today was around in 2009 and just getting warmed up The show was not revelatory but just echoing the rhetoric of the Obama campaign at the time. This kind of stuff was everywhere.
