In my experience if you want to help animals, it's wiser to call the fire department than police or anyone else, police will just come and shoot the animals.
Very true. I also love the the foids response of “just leave it” like the motherfuckers going to climb up there and get carry the bear down. 🤣
Typical. The few times I've called the police they've always found an excuse for why "that's a civil matter" or "it's not our jurisdiction."

I wouldn't be too harsh on them in this case. Fish & Game is not usually in the business of animal rescue, and they certainly aren't messing around with power lines. There are sometimes dedicated non-profits that deal with wildlife rescue.
The purpose of Fish & Game is to manage the wildlife of the region from the macro scale. Work on habitat development and management, and control illicit hunting. A lot of guys will get prickly about this because "muh cops" and "I should be able to hunt where I want", but the truth is it all needs to be overseen as we're not in a wild frontier anymore. If you want an example of why this is necessary, go watch the section of Africa Addio where the colonial oversight of the game preserves vanished. Both black and White fell on the wildlife in their own particular versions of gluttony.
So yeah, if an animal does a stupid thing that gets itself injured or trapped, that's life. Maybe you can help, maybe you can't.

It's too dangerous let natural selection take its course. Can't put a mattress underneath it might jump down and attack you.
