That's so awesome! I just moved to rural SE Missouri after living for forty years in Dallas/Fort Worth. I was in Walmart looking for some buzz baits, and Little Bubba about 9 or 10 walks up and politely asks if I could hand him down one of the fishing rods up on the rack that he couldn't reach.

I got it down for him to look at. He said it was too expensive. "I've got a fifty dollar budget". So, I started to pull down some other rods until he found one he liked. But it was 60 bucks. About that time, his dad came around the corner. We had nice conversation about fishing and turkey hunting.

As I was about to walk away, I got my wallet and pulled out three fives and gave it to the kid. I told him to get the $60 rod. He was so grateful and excited. He shook my hand like a man and told me how much he appreciates it. The dad was really cool and said I don't have to do that. I told him about history with working with kids in the CPS system, and how refreshing it is to see a well mannered, intelligent and strong kid.
