I was working earlier this week and the homeowners gave me a cooler full of waters and bought the crew some pizzas and they even shared some unpasteurized milk when I mentioned that I like it, talking about gardening and stuff. I've done charity work with churches before and if we are doing work at some nigger's house they won't even come outside and say thank you let alone offer water or anything. That's why i don't even do that shit anymore. I don't want to do charity for people who have no gratitude for anyone or anything. People who show me zero gratitude probably show God zero gratitude. I get that it can be depressing doing your best, day after day, only to see women going after losers (there's another guy I "work" with who never shows up, doesn't work when he does, but has half a dozen "girlfriends" solely because he deals coke, for example).

I got it down for him to look at. He said it was too expensive. "I've got a fifty dollar budget". So, I started to pull down some other rods until he found one he liked. But it was 60 bucks. About that time, his dad came around the corner. We had nice conversation about fishing and turkey hunting.
As I was about to walk away, I got my wallet and pulled out three fives and gave it to the kid. I told him to get the $60 rod. He was so grateful and excited. He shook my hand like a man and told me how much he appreciates it. The dad was really cool and said I don't have to do that. I told him about history with working with kids in the CPS system, and how refreshing it is to see a well mannered, intelligent and strong kid.
