I've been working for a buddy for the last week (45 Canadian temperatures everyday; that's well over 100 for you non-faggots) installing roofs.
We were taking a heat break and a woman (not the homeowner) comes out with freezies for us. No reason for her to do this other than she sees two men working hard and feels the need to show appreciation.
So we get back to work for a few hours, come back down, and *another* woman (again, not the homeowner) comes out with a basket of fresh strawberries for the same reason.
Guess the race.
There absolutely are good women out there, even in a commie hellscape like Canada. The downside for us single men is that they've all been married since high school.
I got it down for him to look at. He said it was too expensive. "I've got a fifty dollar budget". So, I started to pull down some other rods until he found one he liked. But it was 60 bucks. About that time, his dad came around the corner. We had nice conversation about fishing and turkey hunting.
As I was about to walk away, I got my wallet and pulled out three fives and gave it to the kid. I told him to get the $60 rod. He was so grateful and excited. He shook my hand like a man and told me how much he appreciates it. The dad was really cool and said I don't have to do that. I told him about history with working with kids in the CPS system, and how refreshing it is to see a well mannered, intelligent and strong kid.
Man. I absolutely LOVE our People.
