Brazil is completely and utterly dystopian, and it will only worsen under the current president and ruling party.
It's easy to see why you wouldn't want your kids in Brazilian schools. It must be hard to find a young Brazilian without tattoos; the girls absolutely love miniskirts; and the criminal life starts early. There are videos of teenage boys becoming hitmen before they became men: having shot someone dead by the age of thirteen really is something.
And even if your kids somehow miraculously avoid all that - doubtful - of what value is learning about 'gender, sexuality and cultural diversity'? All that such things ensure is that the Brazilian dystopia becomes unavoidable, that nothing will be untouched by degeneracy.

For all we know, that Brazilian you're talking about is, was, or has family and friends affiliated with the cartels (PCC, CV, FdN, TCP, etc.), and those kind of favela dwellers and other scum immersed in narco-culture are often die-hard supporters of the Brazilian Left (e.g. Lula's PT, PCdoB, UP, etc.). You could almost think of it as a kind of new ideology, 'narco-Leftism', where Left-Wing politics and criminality intersect (the more I think about this, the more obvious it seems: both PCC and CV have been Left-Wing tinged since the 1990s).
