I'm buying undeveloped property and will be doing A LOT of digging in order to build my house properly. Concrete/rubbercrete, double story rectangle with one side exposed for windows, tucked into the side of a hill.
The rubbercrete, the thermal mass of a foot and a half of it and a decent open floor plan with a good HVAC/fan system should prevent any dead zones where humidity could collect.
The location and placement can also make a big difference.
You'll be able to drive a bulldozer on my roof 👍
Pine box homes suffer from high humidity and mold. Trapped in walls, attics, in layers of sheetrock, damp wood, not enough air flow, basements
