It's not incompetence with the "MAGA" style parties. They know what they're doing, they're just lying about it. Corporate lobbying is a big deal in electing these people, and those corporations make a lot of money by paying migrant workers under the table. It's a huge issue in Europe, this was actually the reason that 500,000 illegals were granted amnesty in spain recently. I disagree with the move because, well, just fucking deport them. But these right wing demagogues preying on the knowledge and sensitivity of their targeted demographics aren't going to fo shit to take away such a huge profit margin for their donors. Hence this problem will never be dealt with by them. Yet people will continue to vote for them anyways. The one thing we have in spain is that there's no Israel lobby in the government. I hate these political movements in particular with a disproportionately high level of vitriol. The left-wing populists aren't lying to you. They say exactly what they're gonna do and then they do it. Simple enough. You know what to expect. Establishment politicians are likewise predictable. They'll lie, but they'll never say anything bombastic or interesting. But right wing parties? They bring up actual issues, say they will fix them, and never fail in doing the exact opposite of everything they said, and then shitting up the entire country and somehow making it 10x worse than even leftists could leave it.
