They're scraping the bottom of the barrel with nostalgia bait if they're reaching for a TV series that hasn't existed since the 80s. Gen Xers have reached the point that they don't give a fuck about childhood nostalgia anymore. Ironically, childhood nostalgia works best on recent adults. Older adults are drawn to young adult/teenage nostalgia. The last somewhat successful nostalgia bait for genX was probably stranger things, which was mostly watched by millennials and zoomers anyways. This is going to be a box office bust. It's a nice bone to throw to some millennials pretending to be 80s kids and pretending to remember he man.

Same. I loved he man, voltron, and gi Joe as a kid. Now it’s just silly. Even if I did still care, I’m intelligent enough to know that anything they remake they will also bastardize, and nigger up to such a large degree, that I couldn’t even begin to enjoy it anyway.

I'm an older millennial and He-Man was still a thing when I was pretty young. But you're right, it's been out of the social zeitgeist for years. The only He-Man thing was that "I'm tripping balls" meme from like 15-20 years ago now, lol.
The "nostalgia" is starting to burn out. Mostly because it reminds people how relatively optimistic and prosperous the 80's and 90's felt, lol

We’re the last of a dying breed fren. Me, and my two childhood frens that I keep up with regularly speak about this. If you’re born between 80-85, you’re part of a special group that grew up, went through your formative years, and reached an age old enough to understand, and remember how both the old world, and new world worked, and differed in so many ways. And you also remembered pre 09/11 very well, and are able to compare it to the 80s, and 90s. This is both a blessing, and a curse IMHO. This is the real nostalgia, not the NOSEstalgia that so many NPCs participate in today.

I loved He-Man as a kid. I'm almost 50 years old. You think I want to watch He-Man now? No. I want a scotch.
