Do you happen to have a "now" picture? I'm curious as to how much of these buildings remain.

In California, they were very quick to demo old stone buildings for "seismic" reasons.

Most architecture like this was deliberately destroyed under auspices of Worlds Fairs and renovations. Satanic jews couldn’t stand the site of divinely inspired architecture standing around.

Well in this case all of the buildings in the picture are still there. The white one is the Wrigley building

The buildings still exist, as do most of the historic early Chicago skyscrapers. This particular picture is overlooking the Michigan Avenue Bridge. Look up the intersection of N. Michigan and E. Wacker avenues. If you use Google Earth with the 3D building feature turned on you can pretty much recreate it. As expected they're surrounded by several taller and more modern buildings.
