We are called to proclaim Christ always and everywhere! That's not being "performative," which is what Matthew 6:5 is about.

You forgot the next verse. Which tells you _why_ you should do this. Probably the most important part:

"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

Your goal is to save souls through belief in Christ. How exactly you go about doing that isn't that important.

" And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

This is how you convince people to believe in Christ.
