There is a trend for be nostalgic for your older brother and cousins' childhood. They are the ones who used to inform our tastes, not social media influencers. Those most hyped for Pokémon never even owned a Gameboy color.

Born in '89, owned a gameboy, gameboy color, sega genesis, sony playstation, n64. I consoomed many products in the 90s and remember them well. Those were simpler times. You could just consoom products free of guilt because we weren't spiraling into a jewniggerpocalypse quite yet.
