The safest refrigerant is CO2. Germany uses carbon dioxide refrigerant in domestic cars and refrigeration. But, I don't think they can export it to the US.
Germany switched away from Freon refrigerants because it's a potential health hazard.
R12 is relatively neutral in terms of pH. CO2 is not. I'd expect those systems to have less installation life and present all kinds of "odd" problems at the joints.
Then there's albuterol inhalers. Required medication for many. It used R12 as the propellant. It works and it's biologically inert so a great choice.
GSK held the patent on this. When R12 was taken off the market they "had to" find a new propellant. Guess what they switched to? R134a. Of course. Should they get a new patent? According to the FDA.. YES! This is a "novel medication" now. So those inhalers that were generic for like 3 months and only cost $5 are off the market and the cost is back up to $95.
This ozone scam exists at more than one level. It's fucking insane what these cunts have gotten away with. The federal government needs to be destroyed. It's organized crime and it has no point in existing anymore.
In the 80’s, I delivered Dominos pizza in Texas, in a 1979 Cutlass Brougham Supreme. They knew how to name cars back then. The AC blew so hard and cold, it would make my teeth ache. Nothing felt nicer than stepping out of the Texas summer furnace heat, with that thick Dominos polyester shirt, and into that icebox. 40 years later, I’ve never seen an AC that came close.
They convinced people that old refrigerators are inefficient. But, those old refrigerators just needed new door gaskets.
