I fast for 10 days at a time whenever I feel the need - about four times each year.
With the exception of one morning coffee each day.
It takes a little discipline but it also feels clean and good.
Just make sure you drink plenty of water.
I started this in my mid-20's after walking between towns in India and noticing that going for six days without food didn't bother me.
After doing a little reading, I learned that it's fairly common for Christians to fast for a week. Some Christians fast for much longer. I've fasted for 12 days, but find ten days works well for me. Not pooping for a week always seems weird though.

Fuck you.
I'm a White Christian who has traveled extensively to open my mind and truly understand the world rather than consooooming (((mainstream and social media))).
rhythm is the key!! The body loves rhythm!!
18/6? 16/8?
3 on 3 off? 7 on 7 off. If you do actually manual labor using muscles, then they need to be fed, best not to push it. Past 3.
My friend does it extremely and has worked his way to 28 days straight!!!
Sure it's possible, but whether or not you could depends. How much physical excursion, how adapted are you, how are your electrolytes etc. Start slow and work your way up.
I cant even make it a full day. I usually never eat breakfast, but if I try to skip lunch my stomach is twisting in pain to the point where I cant focus enough to work. I try drinking salt water but it only helps for about 10 mins.
It's hard at first because your body releases ghrelin at the times of day that you do normally eat. But once you overcome that it gets a little easier. A ton of caffeine helps me
Yes, but you'll probably be tired. I like to keep busy while fasting, but my "manual labor" is much lower than yours I'm guessing lol. You can keep building up to longer fasts, maybe next time try fasting 4 days with the 4th being your first day of manual labor?
This makes me want to eat a juicy medium rare hamburger with crunchy pickles, cheese, onions, spinach, tomato slice, melted cheddar cheese, ketchup, horse radish, mustard,
> Could I work (manual labor) and fast for 5,6,7 days?
Don't even try! I'm assuming that you're still running on calories from Thursday into Friday, then resting on the weekend, right? Your metabolism and sleep will suffer if labor throughout the week with a complete fast. It's also something you have to ease into.
I would definitely recommend a high-protein breakfast (especially eggs) to carry you through the day, skipping lunch, then maybe having a small portion of something easy to digest (depending on how you feel) five hours before bedtime.
However, if you have health insurance or a supplemental health insurance plan. it might provide a free consultation with a nutritionist. You should definitely speak with one to understand your needs and goals based on your weight and age.
