Anyone doing ridesharing is LOSING money.

Sure, you get a few dollars up-front, but then what about the money you lose in depreciating your vehicle with added miles, fuel spent, wear on your tires, oil changes, and your time? That's called an *externality* -- Uber externalizes all those costs to you, which is why they don't want to maintain a fleet of their own vehicles. And what if the random strangers you pick vandalize your personal car? Fuck that!

If people ran the numbers and approached it like a real business, they'd realize they're actually working for free or losing money.

Food delivery, be it from a store like a pizza shop or uber-eats or even the shopping services, is exactly the same.

Like I said, they make money up front, but after taxes and vehicle maintenance, fuel, insurance, etc., they're making nothing.
