Has anyone's money actually been *siezed*? Usually they just close the accounts and freeze them out of payment processing. I'm not talking about money held up in payment processors like PayPal or Patreon or whatever, but like a cash savings account.

It still makes things incredibly hard, don't get me wrong, but I wasn't sure where someone had a checking account and the banks just straight up took the money without some kind of charge or court ruling.

1. “Go find a new bank.” ~ former bank
2. [goes to find a new bank]
3. “Sorry, we’re not taking on clients of your… type… right now.” ~ every single other bank

So yes, it’s basically seized.

The bank has to disburse the funds somehow though when the account is closed, whether it's cash, check etc. The funds just don't go "poof". I know it's all funny money but I'm looking for an instance where that happened. There are plenty of people who are "de-banked" but still have money. In my understanding the main issue was that the removal from the payment transaction and banking systems made it extremely difficult to do anything in modern society. You have the money but without a bank or credit card, your payment options outside of handing over a was of cash were severely curtailed.
