Tattoos in ancient Greece & Rome were a mark of criminality

only criminals had tattoos, that and degenerate uncivilized barbarians (which were like niggers in Rome's eyes)

Correct. Nowhere in history have tattoos been a mark of high societal status; except, as you said, among savage tribes like those found in North and South America, Asia and the Pacific Islands. No civilized, high-achieving peoples ever tattooed themselves. I can maybe understand military tattoos, but that's the only exception.

That's very true. I always find it curious to see these cases of the Harvard grad who went to the Marines (like DeSantis). If you look into their record, they all went in as officers and never touched dirt outside of Basic. There's absolutely a "VIP program" within the military for these rich kids who want the military credentials to run for office back home.
