Can someone please inform me. I’ve always naturally gravitated to gas stoves, however, in our new home we’re now on propane and it just leaks a ton cause the whole place stinks of propane. This is our first time on propane. Is it always this shitty? I had the connection checked out and was told it was the unit that’s not efficiently burning the gas.

We are redoing the kitchen pretty soon. My MIL keeps sending me articles about how gas causes cancer in children. Part of me wants to stick to gas just to spite her but the truth is the gas smell has been giving me headaches.

On the other hand I’m wary of induction. Is it actually safe? Are you transferring radiation to your food?

What is the answer?

I prefer ntural gas to propane, but propane also has some enefits, one of which being that you have your own tank and are "off the grid". Given a choice between propane, electric, and induction I would choose propane.

And, again, electric (coil) and induction each of their benefits and detriments. Induction is much safer. Induction cooks more evenly and consistently. It is easier to control the temperature of induction. But induction does not work with every material - which is what makes it safer than electric coil.

With electrical coil you can cook with any material, and even use it for starting fires if needed, lighting a cigarette or incense, preparing metal utensils for smoking hash. I would choose an induction over electric, but maybe have a portable electric rangetop for applications for which it would be better suited than induction.

So maybe have an induction stove and oven range then also have both a portable propane rangetop or a grill with rangetop for when propane is best and an electric rangetop for when you may needs that, such as if your induction breaks, you don't have materials for induction, SOMETHING goes wrong.
