They use extremely outdated software. Some of the computers run software that looks like DOS.

Refunding a credit card on the POS system isn't even possible for most associates. Often only one or two people in accounting or sales can reverse sales and such.

I wouldn't blame the employees.

also marriott and other corporate hotels like that are owned by foreign rich indian pajeets. Turnover is very high. An assistant manager or manager can make good money but it's long hours, being on call, etc. Customer service is a bitch because there are plenty of unreasonable people who want full refunds if their sheets hand a wrinkle in them.
