It's kind of ironic, though. The most sophisticated and futuristic modern vehicle almost becomes one of the best TEOTWAWKI vehicles. Charging an EV off of photovoltaics would take a long time, but it'd move you farther than waiting for it to rain fresh gasoline when you run out of that. Plus, basically no fluids, no transmission, way less shit to have fail mechanically.
Even when the battery begins to fail it'll still move you around.
The biggest weakness is the centralized 'drive by wire' computer system. If that shit throws a fault you're not going anywhere.

In a fully mechanical vehicle, it's much easier to diagnose and rig up a solution.
You don't need a single IC chip for a fully functional EV, where as a fuel injected ICE needs a whole programmed control module.
