We recreated it and used charcoal then switched to coal. It barely ran a 2004 Toyota but carbureted engines run well enough on it.

3) That literally requires multiple inputs of additional chemicals (like methanol) that you aren't going to just casually have on hand.
4) That is *NOT* easier than dumping a panel on the floor and going off to do something else while energy magically fills your car without any further input whatsoever.
5) Biodiesel is trash and runs like dogshit.
Well, if we're going back to the refinery process for oil, you have to go back to the manufacturing process for solar panels.
I doubt any normal joe could manufacture his own solar panel from scratch.
