Why are people so obscenely resistant to admitting when they've lost? Why is this true for YOU? Why are you *personally* so resistant?

Or is that not a self-reflection that people are capable of? Is it like thinking about infinity? Then forget it, and just talk about the dumbasses you've proven wrong. WTF is going on with them? Get a load of those obstinate bastards, am I right? The nerve.

What's so bad about being wrong sometimes? I literally don't get it. Help this dumbass understand. When they're about to see they're wrong, people act like you insulted their mother.

What gives? Thoughts?

Labels literally explain phenomena. Its called definition.

People can't be wrong because they build their entire worldview on a few key underlying ideas, whatever those ideas are.

When the wrongness threatens an idea directly tied to one of those foundational precepts, they will immediately defend it, because otherwise they would have to question their entire basis for their identity and perception of others.

Their cognition is based on those precepts. To question them questions EVERYTHING and their reality is no longer reality because it's based on a lie. To disrupt them causes dissonance in their cognition. Cognitive dissonance.
